EITI Announcements
On 3 June 2008, the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced the release of the Government's eighth EITI report (Jan-Dec 2007). The release is accompanied by the Aggregator's opinion based on individual submissions of extractive industry companies participating in the EITI process in Azerbaijan. On 18 December, 2007, the Committee on Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative announced the release of the Government’s seventh EITI report (Jan-June 2007) audited by Moore Stephens. The report is available here.
The publication of Azerbaijan’s fifth EITI report follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on November 24, 2004 between the Government of Azerbaijan, foreign and local extractive industry companies and a coalition of some 90 local Non-Governmental Organisations for Increasing Transparency in Extractive Industries to implement EITI in Azerbaijan.

Compliant Countries
To become Compliant, the country needs to complete validation process and meet all of the Validation Indicators. All Candidate countries must complete validation within two years.
