The EITI Conference

The EITI holds a Global Conference once every two years, bringing together all stakeholders of the EITI. During these conferences, a smaller Members' Meeting with the three constituency groups - countries (implementing and supporting), companies (including institutional investors) and civil society organisations - takes place. The main task of the Members' Meeting is to appoint an EITI Board for the next two years.

To date, there have been four EITI Conferences:

  1. EITI Lancaster House Conference, June 2003
  2. EITI London Conference, March 2005
  3. EITI Oslo Conference, October 2006
  4. EITI Doha Conference, February 2009

The International Advisory Group (IAG) agreed that the EITI Conference should continue to take place every two years. The EITI Board decide on how and where the EITI conferences are organised.

The EITI Member's Meeting at the Conference chooses the Members of the EITI Board following the proposal of the three constituencies (governments, civil society organisations and companies).
